Three days of anime, games and cosplay



Anime Sekai, a three-day anime and video game convention, kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on September 20 at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 N. Sixth St. Events will continue until 4:00 p.m. on September 22.

The convention will feature an assortment of panels, cosplay events, video game tournaments, tabletop game demos, vendors and more.

“The curious incident of the dog during the night”

A production of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” will premiere at 7:30 p.m. on September 20-21 and 27-28 at the Paramount Theater, 352 Cypress St.

Beer summit

The Abilene Beer Summit, featuring 125 craft beers from 45 breweries, will be held on September 21 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Frontier Texas !, 625 N. First St. Food vendors and live music will be available .

“Finding a Home in Boomtown”

A free screening of the documentary film “Finding Home in Boomtown” will be shown at 6:30 pm Monday at the Cullen Auditorium at Abilene Christian University.

The film, which features a family trying to prevent homelessness in the Midland / Odessa region, was directed by Abilene High School and ACU graduate Max Maxwell.
