An all-new key visual for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War promises the long-awaited sequel to the beloved anime will be action-packed.
The premiere of Bleach: Bloody Thousand Year War It’s just around the corner, and a new key visual promises the long-awaited sequel will be brimming with action.
The image, which was posted to Twitter by VIZ Media, features the caption “Slay down the blade with the strength to shatter fate” and features protagonists Ichigo Kurosaki, Renji Abarai, and Rukia Kuchiki with their respective drawn zanpakutos. Orihime Inoue and Yasutora Sado (aka Chad) also look set to fight, while Uryū Ishida watches in the distance. The new visual also confirms the October 2022 release date.
The next step in the Bleach epic
It has already been confirmed that many voice actors of the original Bleach anime reprise their iconic roles for Bloody Thousand Year Warincluding Masakazu Morita (tiger and rabbit) as Ichigo, Kentaro Ito (Blue Exorcist) as Renji and Fumiko Orikasa (Ancestry of a Bookworm) like Rukia. Several new cast members were recently announced; notably, Daiki Yamashita (Don’t play with me, Miss Nagatoro) plays Ryunosuke Yuki and Asami Seto (The Rise of the Shield Hero) voices Shino Madarame. Other experienced actors who are hired to Bloody Thousand Year War are Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Koichi Yamadera (Lupine the 3rd part 6) and Hideyuki Tanaka (A play).
Mangaka Tite Kubo has started publishing his Bleach series in Shueisha Weekly Shōnen Jump in August 2001 and the final chapter was published in the magazine in August 2016. The story follows Ichigo, a delinquent teenager who gains the powers of a Soul Reaper and fights to keep the evil monsters known as the Hollows from devour innocent souls. Alongside Eiichiro Oda A play and Masashi Kishimoto naruto, Bleach is one of the best-selling manga series of all time with over 130 million copies in circulation.
Studio Pierrot adapted Kubo’s story into an anime series that originally aired from October 2004 to March 2014, producing 366 episodes but leaving the Bloody Thousand Year War initially unsuitable manga story arc. Pierrot produces the new animated series and several members of BleachThe former creative team of is also returning for the new project. Masashi Kudo and Shiro Sagisu are re-designing the characters and composing the music respectively. Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona 4: The Golden Animation) joins the team as the director of the anime.
Whereas Bleach fans will have to wait another few months to see the events of Bloody Thousand Year War plays out in animation, Pierrot’s original animated series is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
